THE GOSPEL IS AT OUR HEART
Everything we do is centred on the person and work of Jesus Christ. We do this because the Gospel is the power that saves us and the power that sanctifies us! The Gospel is not the first step in a stairway of truths; rather it is more like the hub in a wheel of truth around which all ministry finds its rightful place.
We believe that the Gospel is the ‘good news of salvation’, not by works or our own efforts or righteousness, but by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, as revealed in Scripture alone, to the glory of God alone (historically, this understanding of the Gospel has been referred to as ‘reformed’ theology or the ‘5 Solas’ of the reformation).
Ephesians 2:8, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing;
it is the gift of God.”
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
PREACHING: Covenant Grace holds Scripture in high regard, so we are committed to passionate and relevant expository preaching. We like to regularly practice preaching through a book of the Bible so we don’t miss or skip what God’s Word says. Our prayer is that as we gather under His Word, the Holy Spirit will press it upon our minds and hearts to equip and build up the church (2 Tim 3:15-16).
WORSHIP: Authentic worship is a sincere reaction to a genuine understanding of God. When we truly see, hear, and grasp what God has accomplished for us through Christ, it is only fitting that we respond with enthusiasm about our magnificent God! We like to sing Scripture-filled and God-focused songs (Col 3:16). While worship extends beyond mere singing and encompasses all aspects of our lives, God has certainly blessed the church with music and songs to help awaken, enrich, and guide our love for Jesus.
PARENTS WITH YOUNG KIDS: In CG House we have a parents lounge with a live feed of the service, including a feeding room for mothers. Parents with children under 3 are welcome to use this space at any time on a Sunday.
KIDS: Church includes the oldest and the youngest, and so we want to reflect the same heart in our kids ministry (2 Tim 3:15). We have chosen the Gospel Project as our curriculum because it not only covers the entire Bible in 3 years, but each week we learn how each story fits into the one big story of the Bible, with Jesus as the main character (Luke 24:27, 44, 45). In our lessons we place a strong emphasis on learning Bible skills, Scripture memorisation and how to put God’s Word into practice.

MID-WEEK & MISSIONS
COMM GROUPS: Our community groups meet mid-week (7-9pm) in various homes around PE to connect, grow and share around the Gospel. We would really encourage you to join one of these groups, as it is a great place to feel part of the Covenant Grace community.
FRIDAY YOUTH: On Friday nights we have a group for kids from grade 6 and up. VOX is both fun and focussed, with an hour for silliness and building friendships, and also an hour for worship and Bible Study.
We meet every Friday in the school term, from 7-9pm, at the church.
MISSIONS: CG supports various different organizations in and around PE. Our aim is not to function as a traditional missions department because all Christians are called to love the Lord and their neighbours no matter what their context. We believe that being missional is not an optional service or activity reserved for full-time missionaries, but rather an integral part of what it means to be a Christ follower.
Organisations in the city that we support include: Zanethemba, Love Story, Heart for Alternatives and Buffelsfontein Retirement Home.
